Showing Recognition: National Blood Collectors Week

This week is National Blood Collectors Week, a week to honor the phlebotomists, apheresis operators, and all others involved in supporting the nation’s blood supply! With such a vital role in ensuring there is a safe blood supply for those that need it, the week was started eight years ago.

Various blood banks across the U.S. celebrate this within their center in a variety of ways. Coffee breaks, carnival-themed days, and blood donor/recipient meetings are just a few examples. Success stories can also be shared on the National Blood Collectors Week’s website as another way to honor blood collectors.

Need ideas on how you can celebrate and honor the blood collectors at your blood bank? Check out the National Blood Collectors Week’s website.

Thank you to all the blood collectors! You make such a huge impact every day!
