InceptGives Sponsors Scholarship for National Cesar E. Chavez Blood Drive Challenge

Incept is proud to announce the winner of the 2014 National Cesar E. Chavez Blood Drive Challenge scholarship is Mayra Benevolencia Lopez of Bowling Green State University. Each year since 2009 a winner has been selected to receive this Incept sponsored scholarship for their participation and success in the National Cesar E. Chavez Blood Drive Challenge. The challenge asks student leaders to organize a blood drive at their college or university, submit donor recruitment goals and then submit the results in comparison. The goal of the challenge is to focus on how they do based on their own goals, how many 1st-time donors, and how many Latino/Hispanic donors they recruit. This year Incept was able to select the recipient from the Ohio finalists.


"One of our core goals of InceptGives is to fund locally, so when multiple students placed from Ohio, we got to award the scholarship to the top recruiting student," states Incept Vice President of Client Results, Billie Johnson. "We are so thrilled with Mayra's commitment to raising awareness and saving lives!"


Incept's goal is to continue the scholarship program and also find other ways to support the Migrant Students Foundation. We are currently working on some ideas to make their blood drives even more successful by partnering with each participating blood center and conducting calls on behalf each blood center. Our hope for the future is to assist the Migrant Students Foundation to further its reach and increase the success of blood drives nationwide.

 About The National Cesar E. Chavez Blood Drive Challenge
The National Cesar E. Chavez Blood Drive Challenge honors Cesar E. Chavez's Legacy as an American civic leader by engaging college students to address four objectives:
1. Promote health education
2. Promote health & science careers
3. Promote civic engagement
4. Save lives!
The event was founded in 2009 and is expected to reach 300+ colleges/universities nationwide during 2014 engaging more than 30,000 students to donate blood, many for the first time. In 2012, the National Cesar E. Chavez Blood Drive Challenge was honored as Partner of the Year by the blood services industry association, America's Blood Centers.
