How Your Blood Center Can Use Facebook Messenger To Recruit Blood Donors

Facebook and Hubspot are partnering up this week to bring users live stream video content about the changing landscape of social media and how businesses should react to it. We attended the first session which included a panel of experts talking about major trends in social media and how you can adapt your marketing strategy to take advantage of them.

One of the most popular talking points was around Facebook Messenger Ads and their growing impact on businesses.  Did you know that every month over 2 billion messages are exchanged between people and businesses on Facebook? It's becoming a more natural, and maybe even preferred, way of communicating with businesses for many people.

Facebook Messenger

Messenger ads were designed to provide businesses with an additional tool to meaningfully connect with current and prospective customers, or more specifically, donors for blood centers.

People will see Messenger ads in the home tab of their Messenger mobile app. When they tap on your ad, they will be sent to the destination chosen during ad creation, which can be your website or a Messenger conversation.

Impact For Blood Centers

The global prestige beauty retailer, Sephora, launched the Sephora Assistant, a bot for Messenger, to provide an easy and fun way to book makeovers at standalone locations across the US.  They built an easy interface that lets people choose their preferred store location and service, then instantly shows the closest dates and times. People can even book an appointment entirely in Messenger.  This Messanger campaign has increased Sephora's booking rate by 11%.

If your donors could easily book a blood donation with your blood center on Facebook, do you think they would? We think it's certainly worth the try.
