Best Blood Donor Recruitment Social Media Posts in February

Social media is our jam, so we love to look at all the great ads that different blood centers are creating. There was so much creativity in February that we wanted to make a blog post sharing our favorite blood donor recruitment social media posts.

Take a scroll and see if any of these organic posts or paid ads inspire you to create something new for your blood center!

1. We Are Blood

Who doesn’t love Girl Scout cookies?! We love this ad by We Are Blood for several reasons. First, we appreciate a good, timely donation incentive and Girl Scout cookies are right in season. Plus, they’re popular and sometimes hard to get your hands on so what better way to offer them up than by donating blood? We also love the colors and design choice they used on this ad - especially incorporating the cookies into the words. It’s very eye-catching and would stop our scroll!

2. New York Blood Center

New York Blood Center has several ads in this campaign and we think it really hits home. The ads are super creative in that they use a normal picture and just clip out one person, which puts into perspective the impact of a lost loved one.

3. Vitalant

This post encompasses several points we try to make when talking about what to include in social media content to encourage Gen Zers to donate blood:

  1. Video - They made a reel on Instagram which can be much more engaging than a static photo

  2. Education - They use a fun way to share information about donating blood

  3. Keep it engaging - They use fun sound effects to add to the video and speak in a way that’s engaging and not boring, which would just make some swipe away!

4. Canadian Blood Services

Another great educational social media post! First, we thought the audience spoke for this one too with the amount of engagement this post received. Second, they used a catchy, short audio clip that cycles and keeps the user engaged with the reel. Lastly, they made the content relevant! They asked about the common blood type in the area that they are serving - Canada, which resonates with users more than just asking “what is the most common blood type?”

5. Miller Keystone Blood Center

This Facebook post was super timely after the Super Bowl and very relevant with everyone talking about this moment on top of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift in general. If you can make a meme out of a current event, there’s a good chance your audience will resonate - and Miller-Keystone’s did…look at that engagement!

6. Central California Blood Center

We love when blood centers find trends on social media and make them their own! Central California Blood Center used this reel as inspiration for their own Tiktok and incorporated frogs for Leap Day.

7. The Blood Connection

Here’s another blood center hopping on a popular trend - the new Beyonce song! With this song going viral, it’s a great way to increase exposure about donating blood without using graphic imagery that could get hidden on Tiktok due to their flag on blood donation content.

And there you have it! If you’re looking for more inspiration on content, we encourage you to check out these blood centers’ social media accounts to check out all the great content they’ve been putting out!
