How Your Tone of Voice Makes or Breaks a Call

Every time I coach a Conversational Marketing™ Expert (CME) who needs to improve their tone, I tell them to make sure to use their “phone voice.”

Each day we call to ask a number of individuals to donate blood – an actual part of them – to help save the lives of others. With this in mind, it is very important that we are using a friendly and pleasant tone when making a recruitment call. This will entice the donor to speak to us, and give us a chance to explain why we so dearly need their help. If energy and enthusiasm are lacking in the introduction of the call the donor will be less inclined to take the call and in some cases hang up on you right away!

So remember, next time you make a call, use your best phone voice!
